What it is
Wallflower Sessions is one of Dhaka's first open mic experiences that brings music, poetry, comedy, magic, and more under one roof — so people who usually stay at the edge of the room can step up and showcase what they've been holding back. The series began on 5 March 2026 and runs every Wednesday at Butternote Jazz Café.
Whether you're in the audience or on the lineup, it's the same mic, the same night, and the same community showing up for live culture in the city.

The format
If you're on the lineup, your stage time is 10 minutes — enough for a focused set, and fair for everyone sharing the night.
In rare moments — when the room is clearly asking for more and the artist is willing to oblige — a slight extension may be offered. That's the exception, not the rule: the default remains a clean 10-minute slot.
Who shares the mic
Solo sets, covers, originals — plug in and play for a live room.
Spoken word and verse that needs a quiet stage and a listening crowd.
Stand-up and sketches for people ready to laugh with Dhaka.
Close-up or stage magic under the same yellow light as everyone else.
