What it is
A show built around Dhaka's hidden talent
Wallflower Sessions is a curated live show that brings music, poetry, comedy, magic and storytelling under one roof. Artists apply, we watch every submission, and we build each lineup by hand, so the people who usually stay at the edge of the room get a proper stage. The series began on 5 March 2026 and runs every Wednesday at Butternote Jazz Café.
Whether you're in the audience or on the lineup, it's the same room, the same night and the same community showing up for live culture in the city.
- Every week
- Wednesday
- On stage per performer

How it works
From sign-up to spotlight
Four steps from applying to standing on stage.
-
Apply
Share your details, a short intro and a sample video. It only takes a few minutes.
-
We review
The team reads every application and builds the running order for the night.
-
Get your slot
If you're selected, an email confirms your 10-minute slot and your time in the lineup.
-
Take the stage
Turn up, play your set under the yellow light, and meet the room afterwards.
Here to watch instead? Guest seats are ticketed at ৳500, and ৳300 of it is redeemable at Butternote on the night.

The format
Each performer gets a 10-minute slot
If you're on the lineup, your stage time is 10 minutes. Enough for a focused set, and fair for everyone sharing the night.
Now and then, if the room is clearly asking for more and the artist is happy to, we might stretch a set a little. That's the exception. The default is a clean 10-minute slot.
Who we book
Every kind of performer
Musicians
Solo sets, covers and originals, plugged in and played for a live room.
Poets
Spoken word and verse that needs a quiet stage and a listening crowd.
Comedians
Stand-up and sketches for people ready to laugh with Dhaka.
Magicians
Close-up or stage magic under the same yellow light as everyone else.
Storytellers
True stories and tall tales told out loud, to a room that leans in.
