Marketplace rules
How gigs work
Clear operating rules for posters, creators, and spotters — including credits, escrow, fees, payouts, and refunds. Numbers below reflect the current platform settings.
Who does what
Three ways people earn or hire on the board:
- Gig poster (client)
- Posts the listing, reviews applications, hires, funds escrow, and requests release when work is done.
- Creator (applicant)
- Spends application credits to propose, gets hired, delivers work, and receives the agreed rate minus platform fee (and spotter commission if any) into their wallet.
- Spotter
- Finds a real opportunity online or offline, posts it on DHK with “I’m a spotter” checked, and earns a commission when that hire is paid out through escrow — taken from the creator’s cut, never added to the client’s bill.
Typical lifecycle
- 1Poster publishes a gig (may wait for admin review unless pre-approved).
- 2Creators apply using credits; poster shortlists / interviews / hires.
- 3Poster funds escrow (full project or per milestone) via the demo gateway.
- 4Creator delivers; poster marks complete and requests release (or it auto-requests on complete).
- 5Admin approves release → creator wallet credited (and spotter, if set).
Rules for gig posters
- Accurate listings. Budget, skills, location, and brief must match the real job. Misleading or spam posts can be rejected or closed.
- Review before public. New posters usually land in pending until an admin approves. Pre-approved accounts go live immediately.
- You cannot apply to your own gig.
- Hire on-platform. Use applications → hire → escrow. Taking payment entirely off-platform voids escrow protection for both sides.
- Escrow is your commitment. Once funded, money sits with the platform until release or an admin refund.
- Release is requested by you (or auto-requested when the job is marked completed). An admin must approve before the creator is paid.
- Client price stays the agreed rate (+ VAT only if VAT is enabled). Platform fee and spotter commission are withheld from the creator — you are not charged those on top.
- Close or reopen your listing from My gigs when you stop accepting applications.
Rules for creators applying
- Approved account + payout details are required before you can apply (so escrow knows where you get paid later).
- Each application costs 1 credit. Approved creators receive 5 free credits every week. Extra packs can be purchased from Credits.
- Propose honestly. Rate, delivery days, and portfolio samples should reflect what you can deliver.
- Check the fee split on the apply form before you submit — platform fee (currently 15%) and any spotter commission (up to 10%) come out of your agreed rate.
- You get paid only after escrow is funded, release is requested, and an admin approves. Until then, do not assume money has cleared.
- Wallet balance is platform credit from releases (and spotter commissions). Withdrawals to your payout method are managed separately when enabled.
- Withdraw early if needed. Withdrawing an application that is still pending refunds the credit used. Once hired or further along, withdraw rules may block refunds.
How creators make money
Creators earn by winning gigs and completing escrow-funded work. Your take-home is:
Creator cut = agreed rate − platform fee − spotter commission (if any)
- The client pays the agreed rate (plus VAT if enabled). They do not pay the platform fee or spotter fee as surcharges.
- On admin-approved release, your net lands in your wallet as an escrow credit.
- You can also earn as a spotter on listings you find and post (see below) — same wallet.
Example · ৳10,000 rate · 15% platform · 5% spotter
- Client pays
- ৳10,000
- Platform keeps
- ৳1,500
- Spotter earns
- ৳500
- Creator receives
- ৳8,000
How spotters make money
Spotters find real jobs across social apps, forums, or offline — then post them on DHK so creators can apply on-platform.
- On Post a gig, check I’m a spotter and set a commission with the slider — maximum 10% of the agreed rate.
- Commission is on top of the platform fee, still deducted from the creator’s payout only.
- You earn only when the hire is successfully paid through escrow release. No hire / no funded release → no spotter payout.
- On release approval, your commission is credited to your wallet as a spotter credit.
- Spotted listings show a badge so applicants know a spotting fee applies before they apply.
- Only post opportunities you are authorized to share; fake or bait listings can be rejected and may forfeit future spotting.
Application credits
- Credits are not money. They only unlock sending proposals. Escrow / wallet is separate (BDT).
- 1 credit per application · 5 free per week for approved creators.
- Credit is refunded if you withdraw while the application is still eligible.
- Rejected applications do not automatically refund credits unless a withdraw/refund path applies.
Escrow policy
Escrow holds the agreed amount after hire so the creator isn’t working without a funded commitment, and the client isn’t paying without a release gate.
- When: After a creator is hired. Poster creates a hold for the full project or a milestone.
- Funding: Client completes payment on the hold (demo gateway for now — no real bank charge in test mode).
- Statuses: Awaiting payment → Funded → Release requested → Released (or Cancelled / Refunded).
- Unpaid holds can be cancelled by the client. Funded holds are not casually cancelled — see refunds.
- Release: Client requests release (or auto-request on job complete). Admin reviews, then credits creator (+ spotter).
- Admin can reject a release request (hold returns to funded) if delivery/disputes need more work.
- Milestones: Each checkpoint is funded and released separately when the gig uses milestone escrow.
Refund policy
Application credits
- Withdrawing an eligible pending application refunds the credit used to apply.
- Purchased credit packs follow the same wallet/credit ledger; contact support for purchase disputes on the demo gateway.
Escrow (client money)
- Before funding: Cancel the unpaid hold — nothing charged.
- After funding, before release: Only an admin can refund a funded hold (e.g. cancelled job, mutual dispute, fraud). Creator is not paid; client is refunded via the gateway path.
- After release is approved: Creator (and spotter) wallet credits are final for that hold. Further adjustments require admin intervention — not a self-serve refund.
- Work disputes should be raised before requesting or approving release. Once released, treat the payout as settled unless admin reverses under exceptional cases.
What is not refundable
- Platform fee and spotter commission portions of a released payout (they were withheld at release time).
- Credits spent on applications that were reviewed and not withdrawn under the refund rules.
Fees at a glance
- Platform fee (from creator)
- 15%
- Spotter commission (from creator)

Conduct & enforcement
- No harassment, fake budgets, resume farming, or off-platform payment pressure that bypasses escrow after a hire.
- Admins may reject listings, close gigs, refund escrow, or restrict accounts that break these rules.
